Clare County Council will today back an independent candidate for next month’s Presidential election.

The local authority is one of several nationwide meeting today to decide which candidate to nominate for the Presidency.
Businessman Sean Gallagher is set to be ratified by representatives at their monthly meeting today – the council has already indicated it’s provisional support for him following an address by all potential candidates last June.
