Clare County Council is set to explore anti-misinformation training for elected representatives.
It follows a cross-party motion put forward at the latest meeting of the local authority citing concerns over the growing impact of false information on public discourse and community cohesion.

According to a Pure Telecom survey, last year alone, 32% of Irish adults admitted to sharing misinformation online before realising it was false.
Lisdoonvarna Fine Gael Councillor Joe Garrihy says it’s a serious problem.
