Clare County Council is to carry out a blitz on housing estates after local representatives claimed that dumping here is "out of control."

The local authority has already carried out a project on one housing estate in Ennis, to determine which houses are not complying with waste collection bye-laws.
Residents were asked to provide evidence of having signed up to a waste collection service and now a larger project is underway.
