Council See Increase in Illegal Dumping

Owners of holiday homes in along Clare’s coastline are being asked to refrain from using public bins to dispose of their domestic refuse.

Clare County Council says it’s recorded a ‘significant’ increase in the amount of domestic rubbish being placed alongside bins at seaside resorts such as Kilkee and Lahinch during the recent heat wave and as the holiday season continues.

The local authority says the onus is on homeowners to dispose their waste at it’s recycling centres at Lisdeen or Ballyduffbeg, or through a private collection service.
