Clare County Council says any decision made about pedestrianisation measures in Ennis will be taken in the context of the town’s overall mobility plan.

The local authority is conducting a survey on potential pedestrian-friendly initiatives in the town centre, which opened for submissions this morning.

A temporary mobility plan put in place at the onset of the pandemic which involved pedestrianisation divided opinion in both the business community and the general public.

Senior Executive Officer with the Ennis Municipal District, Leonore O’ Neill, says input from the public on potential measures is the right way forward.
