Clare County Council is advising motorists that temporary weight restrictions remain in place on Latoon Creek Bridge.
A restriction of 3.5 tonnes was introduced on the bridge 4 kilomtres south of Clarecastle in November last, as a safety measure, after a structural investigation recomended that a load assessment be carried out.

Heavy vehicles, including busses are being diverted away from the route and relevant signage is in place.
A consultant has been appointed to carry out an investigation of the bridge's load carrying capacity and the local authority says any necessary remediation works will be carried out as soon as possible.
