Clare County Council has pushed back on calls for full time lifeguards to be engaged on this county’s beaches between May and September each year.

The local authority has already committed to full cover between June and August, with some representatives publicly calling for a longer commitment.

Lahinch, Spanish Point, Fanore and Kilkee are to see full cover every day until September, with White Strand Miltown Malbay, White Strand Doonbeg, Cappa, Mountshannon, Ballycuggeran and Ballyalla seeing a similar service from the end of this month.
