Council Passes Motions Seeking Reversal Of Some Level Five COVID Restrictions

Clare County Councillors have formally called on the government to ease some of the current Level 5 COVID-19 restrictions.

Local Authority members have unanimously backed a motion in which they call on the government to look at the possibility of easing the restrictions, as COVID cases drop.

The motion says the move would support small businesses, and give them hope into the future.

The Council also passed a separate motion calling for gyms to be classified as essential, which had been called for by Shannon Sinn Féin representative Donna McGettigan.

Cllr McGettigan says she believes gyms are essential and will follow the necessary precautions.
