Clare County Council has ordered that a controversial wind turbine which was recently erected in Parteen be decommissioned
The turbine, which was granted permission over a decade ago, caught many by surprise when it was erected in recent weeks, and a group of local residents had launched a campaign against it.

There are a number of homes located close to the where the turbine is located.
Now, local Fianna Fáil TD Cathal Crowe has confirmed that Clare County Council has issued an enforcement order, stating that the turbine must be removed and decommissioned by April 8th.
