Council meeting adjourned as mark of respect to Jimmy Smyth

The Clare GAA community will today pay it’s last respects to legendary hurler Jimmy Smyth who will be laid to rest later.

Clare Councillors adjourned their monthly meeting last night, with local representatives describing Smyth as a legend of hurling in Clare, Munster and Ireland.

Condolences were also expressed for the murdered Detective Garda Adrian Donohue, in the first meeting of Clare County Council since his killing last month

Mayor of Clare Councillor Pat Daly says Smyth was proud of Clare success, even long after he retired from the sport.
