An investigation into the source of a persistent pong which wafted across Ennis is ongoing.

The foul stench was detected in most parts of Clare’s County Town between 3 and 7 pm yesterday and also drifted out to Clarecastle and Tiermaclane.
Clare County Council has confirmed the nuisance odour is not related any waste water treatment plant locally, nor has it received reports of a gas leaks.
