Clare County Council is to honour local figures who’ve been at the centre of recent sporting successes.

The local authority is to host a civic reception in honour of Emma Barrett, Mairead Moroney and Jean Molony who represented Ireland, and won medals, at the recent Special Olympics World Games.

Also set to be honoured is Noel McNamara of O’Callaghans Mills, in recognition of his work as Head Coach of the Grand Slam-winning Ireland Under-20 Six Nations side.
