Clare County Council has been granted more than a quarter of a million euro for construction works at the Vandeleur Walled Gardens in Kilrush.
Overall funding for the new state-of-the-art visitor experience from the Department of Rural And Community Development now stands at more than €1.9 million.

The project will see the derelict former stables of Kilrush House, which was destroyed by fire in the 1890s, transformed into a new visitor experience comprising a museum, shop and more.
It is anticipated that the works will commence on site following Level 5 restrictions being eased for construction, which could be as soon as next month.
