Calls have been made for a large scale social housing estate to be developed in Clare in order to tackle lengthy waiting lists.
Speaking at the Social Development Strategic Policy Committee yesterday, Senior Executive Housing Officer Sinéad O’Donoghue confirmed the measure is being explored.

There are currently 2,723 households awaiting an offer of social housing in Clare.
Clarecastle Sinn Féin Councillor Tommy Guilfoyle says action is urgently needed.
