Clare County Council is examining the possibility of a footpath between John O’ Sullivan Park, Lees Road and Drumcliffe Cemetery.
It follows concerns raised from local representatives at the large volume of people walking and cycling on the road in the area, particularly since the onset of the pandemic in 2020.

The local authority says its Road Design Office is looking into whether such a project could be eligible for future Active Travel Funding.
Outgoing Fianna Fail Councillor Mark Nestor says the road’s structure is particularly dangerous for elderly people.
