Clare County Council says €23,761,043 is required to repair damage caused along the county’s coastline in the stormy weather of the past week.
The full financial cost of the past week has been revealed to Councillors, who are holding a special meeting in Ennis this afternoon.
Lahinch has been identified as being in the biggest need of funds, with the bill there standing at over €5.8m.
Nearly €3.5m is earmarked for Kilbaha, while over €2.5m is set to be spent at Cloughaninchy in Quilty.
The Council is seeking nearly €2m for repair works at New Quay, and over €1m for the N67 at Carrowdotia near Moneypoint.
In all, problems have been identified in 23 different areas, and the total figure indludes a 10% contingency fund for unforeseen issues.
The Council’s estimates are now being discussed at the meeting at Áras Chontae an Chláir, before it is sent to the Department of the Environment.
Clare County manager Tom Coughlan has already said that the level of works carried out here will be dependent on the amount of money the Council receives from central government.
