Councillor PJ Kelly described as "frightening" the 100,000 euro price tag attached to a revolving door.

But in a statement to Clare FM, the local authority says the amount applies to the complete redesign and retrofit of the main entrance, with the cost of the revolving door amounting to only 22,700 euro.

Clare County Council says just over 85,500 euro has been spent on the works at Aras Contae an Chláir which include disabled access and associated mechanical works, while a further 15,402 euro has yet to be paid.
