The Council is seeking tenders for the provision of design consultancy services for the demolition of Ennis Fire Station on New Road as well as the construction of a new fire station on the site.

In a statement to Clare FM, a Clare County Council spokesperson says “all viable options” are being examined “including the possibility of demolition and a full rebuild”.

It says “any demolition would require planning permission, which has not yet been sought or granted”.

Additionally, the Council says, “at this stage, no design has been developed, as the purpose of the consultancy is to explore and assess those options”.

The contract, which is valued at €600,000 and will have a duration of 26 months, also includes engineering design, architectural design, mechanical and electrical engineering, project management consultancy, structural engineering and civil engineering.

The deadline for tender submissions is March 20th.
