Funding has been announced for flood alleviation works in an East Clare community where residents were cut off from their homes.

Homeowners in Dooras near O'Callaghans Mills endured severe flooding there for much of the early part of the year, with some forced to leave their homes altogether.
Clare County Council has now allocated €85,000 for road repairs there, which it's hoped will bring an end to the problem.
