Clare County Council was close to buying three Ennis homes which were the site of a fire this weekend.

The fire was reported shortly before 5:30 on Saturday morning, and saw two unoccupied premises destroyed.
The Council has told Clare FM that it had been interested in acquiring the homes, but that contracts had not been signed.
The local authority says it is now a matter for the owners or receivers to deal with any potential insurance claims.
Gardaí have confirmed that they're treating the fire as suspicious and Sergeant Joe Downey of Ennis Garda Station is looking for anyone with information to contact them.
