Council CEO Confident County Budget 2024 Addresses “Areas Of Greatest Need”

Clare County Council has expressed confidence that its budget for next year addresses “the areas of greatest need” in the county.

Unanimous support was granted by Clare councillors last evening for the local authority’s Draft Budget 2024, which sees its predicted expenditure rise by over €30 million to €186.4 million.

Development Management was the service division which received the greatest allocation of €44 million, closely followed by Housing and Building, which has seen a €7 million increase in predicted expenditure compared to the 2023 budget.

Chief Executive of Clare County Council Pat Dowling believes the budget, which has been widely-praised by local representatives, comes as a result of a governmental effort to tackle living standards nationwide.
