Clare County Council has been allocated nearly €85,000 under the Additional Outdoor Infrastructure Fund.
The Department of Transport initiative, worth an overall €13 million, is intended to facilitate short term measures which will enhance outdoor urban space and improve walking and cycling facilities.

Funding provided will enable works such as kerb widening to facilitate outdoor dining, new on street furniture and traffic management changes that prioritise pedestrians and cyclists.
Five schemes in Clare will receive a portion of the funding, along with 229 further initiatives nationwide.
