There’s been a cautious welcome to an announcement by Clare County Council that they’re to carry out works aimed at eliminating a persistent odour in Shannon.
An interim remedial desludging operation is to begin this weekend at the Tradaree Point wastewater treatment plant in the town, and while the Council says this work itself could cause odours, it’s hoped it will pay off in the long-term.
