Clare County Council claims its delivery of a new social housing development in West Clare is in line with its objective of building homes right across the county.
Contracts have been signed between the local authority and Custy Construction for an eight-unit development on the Kilkee Road in Doonbeg consisting of three two-bed bungalows, two three-bed dwellings and three two-bed homes.
A number of specially-adapted units will also be included, with construction expected to commence next month and conclude in 2025.
Director of Service of the local authority’s Social Housing Directorate, Jason Murphy has been telling Clare FM’s Seán Lyons that building social homes in more remote areas allows locals to remain in their areas and retain their community links.
