The cost of essential items for Clare households has increased by 20% in the last five years.
Saint Vincent DePaul’s latest Minimum Essential Standard of Living report has found the price of items like food, clothing and shelter has risen by over 5.5% for someone in low paid full-time employment.

The charity is now making a renewed call for the extension of fuel allowance to those in receipt of the working family payment
