Corporate Tax Rate Change Won’t Deter Investment Here Says Clare Tax Advisor

A Clare-based tax advisor doesn’t believe the change in Ireland’s corporate tax rate will deter foreign direct investment companies from basing themselves here.

Yesterday the government announced it’s to sign-up to a global 15 percent corporate tax rate for large companies from 2023.

It’ll see us move away from the traditional 12.5 percent rate, which many seen as being key in attracting multinationals here.

Fergal Cahill of Cahill Taxation Services in Ennis says it was the right move and he doesn’t think it will have any major impact on investement here, due to a change in thinking by multinationals.
