More Supports Needed From Government If Pubs To Re-Open In June – Clare VFI

The Chair of the Clare Vintners representative group says proposals on social distancing measures, which could allow pubs to re-open in June, will not be viable in the long term.

Bar owners are asking the government to let them open up again at the same time as cafés and restaurants, which would mean that pubs could re-open six weeks ahead of the August 10th date outlined in the Government’s roadmap.

The two main representative groups say they could limit numbers, require patrons to stay in their seats, and ban live music and DJs.

But Clare VFI Chair, Darragh Mc Allister has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill says more supports are needed from Government.
