Shannon Chamber is seeking a meeting with The Tourism Minister to assess what can be done to keep Shannon Heritage sites open year round.

Bunratty Castle and Folk Park and King John’s Castle are currently open but are set to close at the end of August, while Knappogue, Cragganouwen, and Dungauire castles have remained closed.

Shannon Group, which runs the sites, has made a submission to government seeking funding to help it keep its tourism sites open.
