Midwest Public Health Director Doesn’t Believe Masks Should Be Mandatory In Primary School

The Director of Public Health Midwest doesn’t believe masks should be made mandatory in primary schools unless new evidence is provided.

It follows HIQA’s recommendation that they shouldn’t be applied to children under 12 yet while in the classroom, though the matter remains under review.

It’s believed a number of COVID cases have already been reported in schools, including in Clare, since pupils returned to their desks last week.
