GPs Determining Whether Children Can Attend School Not Sustainable Claims Local Doctor

A Clare GP says it’s not sustainable for GPs to be asked to determine whether a child should attend school.

Doctors are reporting an increase in the numbers of children being assessed for Covid 19 over recent days, with the Irish Medical Organisation saying each GP is seeing between 5 and ten patients with respiratory issues over recent days.

Current public health guidelines advises that all parents who are concerned about their child’s health should contact their GP.
