The President of Ennis Chamber is expressing concern that the changes to the Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme do not go far enough.

The government has announced that for low income earners, on €24,400 or less, they are now guaranteed at least 85% of their income through the state-backed social welfare scheme.

Meanwhile, for employees with average net pay of between €412 and €500 per week, from €24,400 up to €31,000 annually, the subsidy will be up to €350 per week.
