Clare’s COVID Incidence Rate At Lowest In Nearly A Month

Clare’s incidence rate of COVID-19 is now at its lowest for almost a month.

8 new cases of the virus were confirmed in this county yesterday, meaning Clare’s rate now stands at 210.4 per 100,000 people.

It’s the fourth consecutive day the rate has fallen in this county, with only nine counties now having a lower incidence of the disease than Clare.

At its peak, Clare’s incidence rate stood at over 325 just two weeks ago.

It also means Clare’s figures fall well below the average rate nationwide of 248.0.

The Chief Medical Officer says he doesn’t anticipate any easing of Level 5 Covid-19 restrictions earlier than planned, despite a fall in the number of new cases in most parts of the country.
