Clare INTO Rep Says Classes May Have To Be Sent Home As Schools Reopen Doors

Clare’s representative in Ireland’s largest teaching union says he’s fearful teachers may have to send some classes home over the next number of weeks due to staff shortages.

Schools officially reopen their doors this morning after the Christmas break, though many teachers and pupils are absent for Covid related reasons.

Education Minister Norma Foley says students with special needs, younger children who struggle with remote learning and exam students should be prioritised for in-person teaching.
