Clare GP Says Close Contact Change Will Ease Pressure On Testing System

A Shannon GP believes changes in close contact rules will take pressure off of doctors and the Covid testing system.

People who have been boosted and are asymptomatic close contacts will not have to isolate from tomorrow, though will be asked to take regular antigen tests and wear high grade masks.

Under 40s are being told not to get a PCR test if they have a positive antigen result, and to isolate for seven days.

A booster clinic for over 16s is available on a walk in basis in Shannon between 9.30am and 1pm this afternoon.
