Clare GP Predicts ‘Almost Certain’ Surge Of Covid Cases Following Paddy’s Day Celebrations

A prominent Clare GP predicts a surge in Covid-19 cases is almost certain following St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations.

More than 16,000 new cases were notified to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre yesterday and over 1,000 people are in hospital with the virus; 55 of those at University Hospital Limerick.

However, Dr. Máire Finn says that from anecdotal evidence, the hospitlisation of Covid patients appears to be happening coincidentally, rather than specifically because of the virus itself.
