Clare County Council has rolled out a freephone number to run alongside the existing helpline it has been running in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

As part of Clare County Council’s reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic, a helpline number was issued earlier this month as the first point of contact for anyone in need of assistance at this time.

Now, the existing number of 1890 25 29 43 will be supplemented by a new freephone number, which can be contacted on 1800 203 600.

Both lines are open from 8am to 8pm seven days a week for the duration of this crisis, for anyone who feels they may be in need of help.

Meanwhile, the local authority has also announced restrictions at the county’s recycling centres in Shannon, Ennis, Lisdeen, Scariff and Ballyduffbeg due to increased activity at them in recent weeks.

Only visits for essential waste disposal purposes, such as day-to-day household waste and recycling, are permitted at this time.

Non-essential visits such as garage or home clearouts are advised against during this pandemic, while social distancing measures at the five centres will also be in place.

And once again, that new freephone number is 1800 203 600.
