Health authorities have asked a number of people who attended an event in Glór to self-isolate, after they came into close contact with a patient who was subsequently diagnosed with COVID-19.
A letter has been sent to some of those who attended a podcast recording by Blindboy at the end of last month.
Only a small number of those in attendance have been asked to self-isolate, and operations at Glór continue as normal after management sought advice with the HSE.
It’s understood that a large crowd attended the event at Glór on February 29th last, but only a small number of those who were among the audience have now been asked to self-isolate.
In a letter sent by the HSE Mid-West’s Department of Public Health, which has been seen and confirmed to be true by Clare FM, recipients are told they were a close contact of someone who was subsequently diagnosed with COVID-19.
The letter, sent on Thursday March 5th, says they’re required to self-isolate until March 14th, two weeks after the February 29th performance.
No action is required from those who have not already been contacted.
As part of the contact tracing process, Glór liaised with the HSE and sought advice from officials in relation to continued business there.
Health authorities were and are satisfied that the facility could continue to be used for performances, and that staff at the venue were not affected.
Extra cleaning measures were undertaken as a precaution, handwashing advice and facilities have been put in place, and a number of other events have proceeded at Glór in the days since, without issue.
