Localised data from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre shows approximately 60 new cases of the disease were confirmed here in the two weeks up to this past Monday, the 22nd of March.

Both East and West Clare recorded less than five cases in that timeframe, though the exact number is not disclosed.

North Clare reported six new cases, and its incidence rate continues to remain very low at 36.6 per 100,000 people.

24 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in the Ennis electoral area in that two week period, meaning its prevalence of the disease now stands at 77.6.

Shannon’s recording of 29 cases in those 14 days is the highest in this county, though its incidence rate of 95.4 per 100,000 people is still just two thirds of the national average.
