More than 11,000 people are now claiming the Pandemic Unemployment Payment in Clare.
The total number of people now relying on the government support in this county is more than three quarters of the previous peak back in May last year.
In total, 11,230 people will receive the payment today – an increase of 240 people in just seven days, and the highest number of people claiming the PUP here since last summer.

Separately, a further 85 people have received the Enhanced Illness Benefit in Clare this week – taking the total claiming that payment since the beginning of the pandemic to over 2,6000.
