Corofin has been dealt a blow with news the Post Office in the North Clare village is set to close this evening.

In a statement to Clare FM – a spokesperson said the situation was beyond their control following the sudden resignation of the postmaster –
Social welfare services will now be transferred to Kilfenora Post office from tomorrow.
Clare FM understands that the shop attached to the Post office is also set to close with all other post office services will be available transferred to Ennis .
An Post has confirmed to Clare FM that it will advertise for a new Post office service to operate in the village and that the closure is temporary until a new premises and postmaster can be found.
