Senator Martin Conway has told the Seanad that while he acknowledges the IDA’s work in attracting jobs to this country, he feels areas like Clare are being left behind, and that this is leading to mass emigration from the county.
The IDA is due to take over Shannon Development’s remit with regards to foreign direct investment in the region, as part of the changes for mid-west employment authority.
With this in mind, the North Clare Fine Gael Senator feels it’s an area which needs to be liked at.
