It follows a stormy couple of weeks for the Taoiseach, with questions being raised over his leadership of the party, particularly for allowing the party's coalition partners a free vote on an abortion bill.
The latest parliamentary party meeting gave Mr. Kenny its backing, however, further controversy has now emerged over the decision to appoint James Reilly, who lost his Dail seat in the last election as Deputy Leader.
