The Energy Minister says the conversion of Moneypoint from a coal-burning facility won't happen before 2020.

Studies have revealed that converting the West Clare powerstation to biomass would cost in the region of 250 million euro and while Alex White says he cannot rule out such a conversion, the cost associated with it wouldn't be sustainable.
The Government's recently-published White Paper on Energy says key decisions will be taken on Moneypoint before 2020 and that coal will remain a significant element of our power generation mix for the next decade.
Minister White says coal will have to be phased out.
