A controversial bridge crossing in Killaloe is one step closer following confirmation that all legal challenges have concluded.
The Shannon River Crossing Project has been subject to a number of ongoing legal battles since planning permission was granted by an Bord Pleanala three years ago.
Clare County Council has confirmed at it's monthly meeting that the project, which also includes a new bypass and other roadworks can now move ahead, subject to funding.
Over 40 million euro in the Government's Capital Investment Plan last September and Whitegate Councillor Pat Burke hopes that money will still be made available.
