Consultants Say Midwest ‘Way Behind’ In Bed Numbers & Recruitment

The Irish Hospital Consultants’ Association says the Midwest is ‘way behind’ in healthcare staff recruitment and bed numbers.

It’s after new figures claimed one in three consultants’ posts in this region remain unfilled.

Latest data from the National Treatment Purchase Fund shows there are more than 58,000 people in this region are now waiting for either inpatient treatment, outpatient care or endoscopies.
