Construction on the largest housing development in Shannon since the recession is due to begin next month.
Woodhaven Developmnents will begin digging the foundations of the first phase of homes in Smithstown, Shannon on September 1st.
The first phase of 48 units in total, will comprise of 40 two-storey and 8 single-story homes.

Planning permission has now been granted for the second-phase of 55 houses to be built at the site.
Larry Brennan of Woodhaven Developments says the housing stock will be sold on the open market.
