Construction began on over 160 housing developments in Clare during the third quarter of 2026.
It’s the most in a three month period since the end of 2024.
Commencement notices were filed on 161 housing projects in this county between July and September.
Construction activity in the period was bolstered by a strong showing in July, when 128 housing projects got underway, the third most in any month since records began.
Last month, shovels were in the ground on 16 new housing developments, one less than was seen in August, and a decrease from the 28 recorded in September 2025.
Of those projects, 11 were for one off units, with the remaining five developments for scheme housing projects.
Between July and September 33 of the 161 housing projects that began were one off units, 88 commencement notices were filed for scheme units and 40 were for appartments.
It takes the total number of commenced construction projects in Clare in 2026 to 406.
