Consequences Of Cutting Off Gas Supply Won’t Be Immediate Says MEP

An MEP for this region says he doesn’t believe the consequences of cutting off Poland and Bulgaria’s gas supply will have as an immediate effect as Putin would like.

State-owned Gazprom this week turned off supplies because they refused to pay in Roubles and the Russian President has threatened to do the same to other nations.

Ireland South MEP Sean Kelly believes this is an indication that Putin is becoming more frustrated over the failure to have a quick victory in Ukraine.

He’s told Clare FM’s Morning Focus that there isn’t as much panic over the move, as there’s time to shore up alternative supplies before the winter:
