The Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council has expressed sympathies to the family of Meave Hillery, on behalf of the people of Clare.
The 90-year-old widow of former President and Spanish Point native Patrick Hillery passed away peacefully at her home this weekend.

The UCD medical graduate is survived by her son John and wider family, and predeceased by her husband and their daughter Vivienne.
