Concerns are being raised about the safety of national school pupils due to insufficient road safety measures in Newmarket On Fergus.

Stonehall National School has a concealed entrance, with a meeting of Shannon Municipal District councillors hearing this week that the road requires rubber strips and warning lights on approach.

Clare County Council has agreed to carry out a traffic survey in the area once COVID restrictions allow, and has pledged to work with the school to advance traffic management works.
